seeing braids all over the internet i wished i had longer hair. but then i thought why don't i try braiding hair of this length.
first attempt. i think it'll look neater if my hair will be a bit longer or if i try braiding my hair when its wet.

the hair story

People ask me why I cut and color my hair so often and my answer is always the same- I was bored. But the fact is this is just half the reason why I cut/color my hair. I do it because I like it. I like the way it feels. The way hair just ends suddenly at the sharp edges where you cut your hair. I like the way my finger slips from my hair when I use the conditioner that’s free with the hair color. And I love the smell of the hair color on my hair. Whenever I cut/color my hair I feel like a different person for sometime (only till the time the sharp edges and the smell of hair color lasts) and then its again back to feeling like myself.

Every time I cut/color my hair, it is an experiment; either done by me or by professionals. Its feels good to experiment and to be experimented on (guinea pig!?). Sometimes it goes wrong, sometimes very wrong and sometimes it is amazing. But whatever, at the end of the day its fun. A lot of fun.

Other hair related thing people ask me often is why don’t I grow my hair. Well I did try growing my hair till the time I was in the 5^th grade (2001). It grew only till my shoulders. (I had the same length only once after that in 10^th (2008) because my mother did not allow me to go for a haircut). It did not grow more than that length. And that length just sucks. I have never been able to style my hair of that length. I looked ugly and horrible with that length of hair. So after giving my 5^th std final examination I realized enough is enough and decided to go for a hair cut (finally after years of trying to grow my hair).

 So I went to the parlour with my sister and chopped off my hair to a bob (the cut I got was called a mushroom cut). And ever since I have had haircuts with weird names like mushroom, baby mushroom, apple etc. (all of them being bob).

I cut my own hair now (or I go for free haircuts). I don’t understand why I have to pay for a haircut. It is MY hair that is being cut. I am losing out on my hair and people charge for taking stuff away from you. But whatever! I think my self-hair cutting skills have improved a lot lately (self praise!).

So I end this huge piece of text by stating HAIR WAS AN OBSESSION, IS AN OBSESSION AND I GUESS WILL BE AN OBSESSION.

p.s. I want to learn how to make wigs and make them. Does anyone know anyone in the business?

p.s.s. does anyone in Bangalore wants a hair model to experiment hair coloring on? I am ready. I badly want my hair to be colored but I am totally broke. (in short I want free hair coloring)

tee shirt scarf

i was bored sitting on the chair in front of the computer facebook-ing. and then i thought lets search for some DIY ideas. so i came across a tutorial teaching how to recycle your old tee shirt and turn it into a scarf.so i took a really old tee shirt. its got oil stains and all to try. will make a better one soon.

i haven't figured out yet how to wear it. till then i will wear it on my head.it looks much better as a head-wear(is that a term??)

a random fact: i am in love with the orton-ish effect by picnik.com.. the reason for all the wierd looking pictures!

L'oreal photoshoot

i modeled for L'oreal Academy photoshoot. i will be getting the pictures after a month or so.. so i am just uploading few pictures that my hair-stylist took from her phone.. (apologies for the bad quality.)
There were three looks. this is the first one

for the second look they urled the right hand side of my hair using tongs and cut the left hand side. unfortunately i don't have any pictures for that.
Nor do i have the photoshoot picture for the third look.. but it was the final one so it here to stay. this is my final hair cut

our college had participated in a face painting competion last year. i was the model and one of my friend Shail was the painter. we won first prize for this. and the crown is for the head gear making competition. i stil have it   with me.

this is after participating in Project Broadway! was tired but still in the mood to have fun!

i am suppossed to study.

well, i am supoosed to study.i have to study but i just dont feel like doing it. its just so boring and irritating. i am studying only because there are exams coming up.

Shruti messaged in the mornig. though it wasn't a pleasent one. it said, "listen.. just in case there is class 2mrw, study.. she's taking prelims" i mean i hoped it was some syupid vodafone forward.

so anyways i started studying. was memorizing the french question and answers. after some time i felt like applying some eye make up. i love doing it. and i am pretty good at it. so heres what i did.

first i applied black kajal all over my eye lid.

then green eyeshadow from the inner edge to the center of the eye

and then blue eyeshadow from the outer edge to center..

but it ended up looking black..:(

after appling eyeshadow i back combed my hair. i just love doing it. it looks so pretty.

i always felt like dying my hair blue. specially now after seeing Tavi.but not the same shade of blue... but probably the Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind blue. i just love that colour.
